Pre-primary Foundation Phase

Just Starting Out...

A Safe Place for Young Minds to Grow

Starting Out Right

Welcome to our school’s Foundation Phase, where we lay the strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning. At our school, we believe that the early years of education are crucial in shaping a child’s academic, social, and emotional development. With a dedicated team of experienced educators and a nurturing environment, we strive to provide a stimulating and enriching educational experience. Our goal is to foster a love for learning, curiosity, and creativity, setting the stage for their future academic success.

In the Foundation Phase at our school, we prioritise the holistic development of each child, recognising their unique abilities, interests, and learning styles. Our curriculum is carefully designed to provide a balanced blend of academic instruction, play-based learning, and hands-on experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and social interaction.

Academic Excellence: We follow a comprehensive curriculum that is tailored to meet the specific developmental needs of children. Our educators employ a variety of instructional approaches, incorporating storytelling, interactive activities, educational games, and multimedia resources to engage young learners and make learning a fun and meaningful experience.

Language and Literacy: Language development is a key focus in the Foundation Phase. We provide a rich language environment where children are encouraged to express themselves, develop vocabulary, and enhance their listening and speaking skills. Through phonics instruction, guided reading sessions, and language-based activities, we lay the groundwork for strong literacy skills, preparing children for reading and writing success.

Numeracy Skills: We introduce fundamental numeracy concepts through hands-on activities, manipulatives, and engaging mathematical games. By exploring numbers, patterns, shapes, and measurements, children develop a solid mathematical foundation and an understanding of basic mathematical operations.

Social and Emotional Development: We place great emphasis on fostering social skills, self-confidence, and emotional well-being in our young learners. Our educators create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children learn to collaborate, communicate, and develop positive relationships with their peers. Through character education, mindfulness exercises, and age-appropriate discussions, we help children navigate their emotions, build resilience, and develop a strong sense of empathy and respect for others.

Play-Based Learning: Play is an essential component of our Foundation Phase curriculum. We believe that children learn best through hands-on exploration, imaginative play, and discovery. We provide a range of play-based learning opportunities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking, allowing children to develop their cognitive, physical, and social skills in a natural and enjoyable way.

Parental Involvement: We strongly value the partnership between our school and parents. We encourage open communication, regular feedback, and involvement in your child’s educational journey. Through parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and family engagement events, we strive to create a collaborative and supportive learning community.

At our school’s Foundation Phase, we are committed to nurturing young minds, fostering a lifelong love of learning, and equipping children with the skills they need to thrive academically and socially. We invite you to join us on this exciting educational journey as we shape a bright and promising future for your child.

Mobymax -Building Strong Foundations

For a successful start, it is important that your child has developed foundational skills such as reading and writing, counting, and recognizing numbers and letters. These skills will serve as a solid groundwork for their engagement with Mobymax’s comprehensive online education system.

Children begin their Mobymax experience in Grade K (Grade R) in the year they turn 6 years old. At this stage, they are introduced to the online platform and gradually familiarise themselves with its features and functionalities. Initially, the learning schedule may involve one day of online learning and one day of offline activities. This balanced approach allows for a smooth transition into the online learning environment while ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

Typically, children begin their online learning journey with one or two subjects and gradually progress to incorporate more subjects as their skills improve. This incremental approach enables them to build confidence and competence in each area of study. As they demonstrate proficiency and adaptability, they can explore a wider range of subjects offered by Mobymax, embracing a holistic and enriching educational experience.

Our website serves as a comprehensive resource to guide you through the necessary steps to prepare your child for online learning with Mobymax. We provide valuable insights, tips, and recommendations to support your child’s readiness for this innovative educational platform. From nurturing their foundational skills to understanding the progressive nature of subject expansion, we aim to equip you with the knowledge and guidance to make informed decisions about your child’s online learning journey.

At this crucial stage of their education, Mobymax offers a dynamic and engaging learning environment that caters to the unique needs of Foundation Phase children. With our user-friendly interface, interactive lessons, and personalised learning paths, your child will be empowered to thrive academically and embrace the benefits of online education.

Together, we can ignite your child’s passion for learning and provide them with a solid educational foundation for future success.
